Hey you're moving right along though! It isn't just about your build either...keep in mind how your heroes are set up and which henchmen you check. Also, check your weapons - you may be able to upgrade them and get more "punch." What skills do you have now? Don't spread your attribute points too "thin." Pick a skill area, marksmanship, expertise, whatever, and try to "buff" that up as much as you can. I made the mistake when I started using skills from too many areas so I wasn't really strong in one. Personally,I tend to focus on marksmanship and use expertise as a "secondary" area.

Yeah, you don't really have enough attribute points to use your secondary as of yet. Concentrate mainly on Mark and Exp, maybe some Wilderness as you gain rank.
Elemtalist is not a great secondary for a Ranger for everyday use. There is Barrage/Conjure but thats about it other than a farming build.
Unless of course you Crip Shot/Fire Storm. "Gimp your opponent then rain down fire on him as he limps away"

yes, marksmanship is what you should spec early on, while picking a secondary attribute also. you can spread to 3-4 later in the game
also, i find it easyiest to spec
-expertise if you are going full bow attacks
-wilderness survival for apply poison
-beastmastery for a pet (really helps a lot early on)

Thats what I started my ranger off with as a r/e, but now run a standard r/mo with barrage. The best advice I can offer is to buy a fiery bowstring (don't pay more then 1k) and make your bow deal fire damage, if applicable don't know if you are using a green bow.
The skill set is pretty basic, ideally you will want to cap buring arrow outside of yohlon haven when you are there, the build is also assuming you have capped a pet:
conjure flame
kindle arrows
savage shot
comfort animal
charm animal
rez signet
The other two spots are whatever you want, but the point of the build is to keep up conjure flame and kindle arrows at all times, this way your arrows deal a lot more fire damage. However, conjure flame only works if you are wielding a fiery bow.
As for the attributes spread out evenly where applicable, and toy around with it to see which is best for you. This is a basic form of an old wiki build I used to run called the tainted flame ranger
